Tyson Mobley (Freshman)

Point Guard, 6'1", 180lbs

I am an accomplished college freshman  basketball student-athlete. I have played the highest level, elite basketball all over the east coast since 2011 including college/Pro runs and workouts in NYC / Connecticut and NJCAA D1 battling in  KS, MO, IA and IL. I am a "true point guard" and floor general playmaker with outstanding floor vision, passing, and ball distribution ability that can also kill 'em with the 3 ball and mid-range. My "handles" are my separator and comes from my many years of ball-handling repetition, experience and grind. My ability to control the ball, game, tempo, and make the right unselfish play has been underrated. I have been routinely assigned the opposing teams' best offensive player on defense. This past season, as a freshman, I was assigned the "trusted" passer/playmaker role on my team with 4.5  AST:TO ratio for the first 3/4 of the season (one of the best in D1 Juco). In prior seasons, I was selected as a Connecticut All-State honoree,  a Virginia State Championships Final Four standout, and I've played against some of the best New England/NY/Pennsylvania AA/AAA post-grad teams (in the country) and helped lead my team to the Conference Championship game. I am not dodging any smoke regardless of height, upside, rank or stars - love "King of the Court" and 1v1. Advocates for "playing the right way" generally love my game. Academically, I am an honors student and a Hargrave Military Academy Alum (Platoon Sergeant).

About Me

My hometown is theĀ small town community of Newtown, Connecticut in Northern Fairfield County. I was blessed to experience "basketball grit" in NYC, Baltimore, and DC over many years. My favorite NBA basketball players areĀ Kyrie Irving due to his insaneĀ handles and finishes and Steph Curry as the best shooter ever withĀ handles craftiness. I have been nicknamed "Poor Man's Jalen Brunson" due to my basketball IQ - I am a Brunson fan.
